Telephone Services


WKU IT provides all telephone services for the University including on-campus, local, long distance, and international calling services as well as voice mail service. In addition to those basic services many additional features are available.

Please contact the ITS Service Desk for support or more information about any campus telephone services, or submit a service request online.

 

Features

The following services are available to the campus community.  You may request any of these features from the service catalog or by contacting the ITS Service Desk.  The ITS Service Desk serves as the initial point of contact for technology support and provides the first level of response for technology-related problems and questions.

 

Voicemail:

Voicemail service can be obtained for employees of WKU. Once voicemail has been established, instructions will be sent out by email on such topics such as setting up a password, record a greeting, plus more features. For an online version of voicemail instructions please reference the knowledge base linked above.

 

Large Call Volume Features:

Groups that receive and process large call volumes may be interested in several features and capabilities we offer specific to these needs.  Based on your processes and call pattern analysis, , we will work with you to determine the best solutions. Multiple options also exist for call reporting to deliver metrics on how your group is performing.

 

Toll Free Services:

This feature offers convenience to your callers allowing them to call you, whether local or long distance, and any costs will be charged to your department instead of the person making the call.  If you are interested in toll-free services contact us so we can begin the process for you.

 

International Calling:

International calls typically command a higher per-minute charge the exact rate of which is dependent on which country is being called. To enable your WKU telephone to create an international call, please contact IT to request this feature. Budget Authority approval will be required.

 

Billing Portal

This system allows budgetary roles within a department to review all of their telephone services and charges. To gain access to this system, please place a billing request with the ITS Service Desk. Contact options are listed above.

Once you have access, login with your NetID and password.
