Internet & Voice Connectivity

An environment the size of WKU is under constant change. These changes may range from moving a desk around and repurposing of space to complete building renovations or new building construction. With such changes also comes the need to address new technology requirements and a basic part of that is to provide data, voice, and CATV jacks where they are needed and in appropriate quantities. In concept this is simple enough, but depending on the specifics of the situation this may well involve the coordination of six or more different specialized groups. Internally we call these “Moves, Adds, Changes or “M.A.C.’s” for short.

We treat each M.A.C. as a project and assign a dedicated person to work with the client to meet their needs. Our goal is to create a single point of contact to coordinate the entire process and see it through in the quickest manner possible. This process also allows us to consolidate billing which is something that has greatly reduced confusion for clients.

If you are in a situation where you need additional data, voice/phone, or CATV outlets, or the current ones are not located in the most effective location, contact the WKU-IT Helpdesk. They will assist you in creating a case for a “M.A.C.” specialist to contact you and discuss your needs.
