Special Celebrations
At Western Kentucky University, several units celebrate graduates through special ceremonies and recognition events. Check back for dates on these specific events.
Held annually in the Spring, the Lavender Recognition Ceremony celebrates and recognizes the achievements and contributions of WKU's LGBTQ and Ally graduates from all races and ethnicities.
Thursday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m. in Downing Student Union Auditorium
The Intercultural Student Engagement Center (ISEC) sponsors WKU’s graduation celebration for students who identify as Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native American, or Multiracial. The event will recognize Fall 2022 graduates. Registration is required.
Monday, December 12 at 10:00 a.m. in Downing Student Union, Room 2123
WKU commissions cadets as 2nd Lieutenants into the U.S. Army during the WKU ROTC Commissioning ceremony.
