Collecting Student Feedback

Collecting student feedback is a wonderful way to gauge how things are going in your class. The Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) offers confidential consultations for faculty and instructors who are interested in having us help to gather feedback from their students. This feedback can be collected in several ways and the CITL staff is happy to work with you to determine what method would work best for your course. Depending on the amount of time you have available and the questions you would like to ask, the CITL staff can administer an anonymous questionnaire (takes approximately 10 minutes) or we can conduct a focus group and talk more deeply with students about their experience (takes approximately 20-30 minutes). Regardless of the method you choose, the feedback is anonymous.

After collecting the feedback, the CITL staff member will compile and analyze the responses for a follow-up consultation in which you will discuss the feedback and think through whether or not it would be helpful to implement changes. To schedule a consultation, please contact the CITL.
