Service Resources for New Faculty

• Judging or moderating for the WKU Student Scholar Showcase is an excellent way to serve the institution early in your career.
• Attending and eventually participating in the WKU Professional Development Day is a great way to learn about strategies to support students and/or share your own ideas.
• Advising a WKU Student Organization can also be a helpful and fulfilling way to serve WKU and our Students.
• Some faculty become involved in volunteer organizations in Bowling Green and Warren County. These opportunities are a great way to engage in our community.
• The Western Kentucky Faculty Senate is devoted to furthering the University's mission by providing a forum for faculty deliberation and contribution to shared governance. Attending Senate meetings will provide insights on the institution and becoming a senator after a few years is an important way support the WKU.
