The Returned is a podcast series created by Adrianna Waters. It focuses on WKU students who each changed their international plans due to the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. They discuss their struggles amid change, what they learned from the experience, and how their global learning experience was still worth the challenges they faced.

In this episode, we discuss assimilation. When people are removed from their culture, that is either the result of gradual loss or sudden removal. Either way, some absorption into the mainstream inevitably occurs. Join us as we discuss the ways communities cope with assimilation, and what people are doing to take back their culture or reinvent it altogether.
