Kara Glenn Appointed to National Leadership Role with American Advertising Federation
- Thursday, April 2nd, 2026

Kara Glenn, Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Western Kentucky University and Co-Director of Imagewest, has been appointed as the American Advertising Federation (AAF) District 5 representative to the National Education Executive Committee (NEEC).
NEEC plays a critical role in shaping the future of advertising education by advancing student opportunities, strengthening connections between academia and industry, and ensuring curriculum remains relevant to the evolving demands of the field. The committee oversees and supports key national initiatives, including the AAF’s National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC), student conferences, and academic programming designed to connect students with industry professionals and career opportunities.
Glenn will represent District 5, which includes Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia, bringing a strong voice for regional programs and students to the national stage.
“I’m honored to represent District 5 and to contribute to the national conversation around advertising education and its role within interdisciplinary learning,” said Glenn. “Applied learning is at the core of my pedagogy. Programs like the American Advertising Federation’s National Student Advertising Competition give students the opportunity to step into the profession before they graduate, and I’ve seen firsthand how that experience transforms them into confident, capable leaders.”
Glenn’s appointment reflects her commitment to experiential learning and preparing students for professional success through real-world, industry-connected experiences. It will also expand opportunities for Western Kentucky University students to connect with national networks and industry leaders.
