About WKU Accounts
Your WKU Account is your key to WKU technology and online services. Even though you may see different identifiers, they all connect to one account with a single password. Keep your login credentials secure, and reach out to the ITS Service Desk immediately if you think your account may be at risk.
WKUID
80- number
Your WKUID (beginning with 80) is your main identification number at WKU and is printed on your physical WKU ID card. All employees are issued a WKUID upon hire and students are issued a WKUID once they are fully admitted by Office of Admissions.
NetID
All active faculty, staff and students are issued a NetID. Your NetID is a personal identifier and may be used for accessing some WKU systems and services.
Faculty and Staff receive their NetID upon hire. Students receive their NetID once they are fully admitted by Office of Admissions.
Your WKU Account also provides access to email. Employees and retirees use Exchange email, while students and alumni use TopperMail, and some users may have both. For full details and access instructions, see the Email Accounts page.
Google Workspace for Education
Google Workspace for Education are WKU-managed accounts that provide email and collaborative tools such as Docs, Forms, Sites, Classroom, Assignments, and more.
