Hovsep, International Student Diplomat

Sepo

Hovsep Yakubyan was originally born in Yerevan, Armenia. He and his family have lived in Armenia, Syria, United Arab Emirates, and Russia, so Hovep says he’s proud to be from planet Earth. Since he had the opportunity to live in a variety of places, Hovsep says he would often be on cultural conquests, soaking up the culture of his new homes. Moving around also allowed Hovsep to become fluent in Armenian, English, and Russian, as well as learning moderate Arabic. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics. He was very active during his undergraduate experience at WKU; he was a founding father of Beta Gamma Omega Multicultural Fraternity, a member of Economics Club, a member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and an assistant for the political science department. He’s currently studying political science  and public administration for graduate school.

Upon receiving his graduate degree, Hovsep’s short-term goal is beginning his career at an influential corporation in a diverse state. After that, he plans to get into a political field, grow in it, and create relations to boost economies in third-world countries. He would perhaps like to work for NATO, UN, or IMF. “Being very interested in today’s international politics, I would enjoy using my language and business skills to travel the world and create opportunities for countries in need,” Hovsep said. His favorite quote is: “We were all humans until race disconnected us, religion separated us, politics divided us, and wealth classified us.”
