  • Time: 1:00pm - 3:00pm
  • Location: HCIC 1011HCIC 1011
Description:

Facilitated by Dr. Andreas Stamatis

Faculty work can involve sustained pressure, competing demands, setbacks, uncertainty, and difficult decisions, and over time, that pressure can contribute to burnout and diminished motivation. This workshop is designed to help you respond to that pressure with more clarity and confidence. Participants will explore mental toughness as the capacity to respond purposefully, efficiently, and flexibly when work becomes challenging, rather than simply "pushing through." Through reflection, discussion, and practical exercises, faculty will work through a current professional challenge, identify where they have agency, consider when persistence or adaptation is needed, and leave with a concrete action plan they can begin using immediately.

The workshop will be led by Dr. Andreas Stamatis, Ph.D., FACSM, from the University of Louisville. Dr. Stamatis works with individuals who have high performance demands, including issues such as mental toughness, motivation, leadership, and sustainable performance under pressure. Additional information about Dr. Stamatis can be found on this Meet Our Guest Speaker Document

Special thanks to the College of Health and Human Services and the Provost’s Office for co-sponsoring this workshop with CITL!
