In this session, we’ll explore how the two lane model can help us rethink written assessments by separating two goals: helping students develop capability and assuring they genuinely have capability. 

We’ll explore why “Did the student write this?” may no longer be the right question, look at open assessments that support learning with AI and secure assessments that demonstrate student capability, and apply the model to an assessment from your own course.
