WKU Graduate Student Recently Awarded Legislative Research Commission Fellowship

Bowling Green, KY- Western Kentucky University graduate student, Christopher Joffrion, was recently awarded a Legislative Research Commission (LRC) fellowship through the 2017-2018 Graduate Fellows Program in Frankfort, KY. Joffrion, a graduate student and research assistant for the WKU Department of Social Work, will begin the program in May 2017.
Each year the LRC awards 5-10 fellowships to graduate students in law, public administration, public policy, and social work. Fellows are assigned to work with a non-partisan legislative committee. Joffrion will be working with the Office of Educational Accountability (OEA). The OEA is responsible for monitoring and reviewing elementary and secondary public school systems, researching educational policy, monitoring elementary and secondary public school financing, and reports to the Education Assessment and Accountability Review Subcommittee.
Joffrion will graduate with a Master of Social Work in May of 2018. Joffrion currently has a Master's degree in Communication Studies from Texas Tech University, has served as Director of Debate at WKU (2006 until 2013), and has previously taught classes in the WKU Department of Communication.
