South Central Kentucky AHEC, housed within the College of Health and Human Services at WKU, is dedicated to promoting healthy communities through an educational pipeline. AHEC works with students, health professionals, and communities to provide resources and programs that lead to healthier communities.
Cultivate Interest in Health Careers
AHEC cultivates student interest in health careers by creating and funding programs for students in middle school, high school, and college that foster an interest in the health field.
Visit the health career section to learn about funding opportunities for educators and program opportunities for students.
Train Students in Clinical Settings
Every health student in Kentucky (medical, PT, pharmacy, PA, etc.) must complete clinical rotations. AHEC partners students with quality preceptors. AHEC also assists with arranging temporary housing while students complete their clinical rotation.
Support Health Professionals by Providing Continuing Education
AHEC coordinates continuing education for health professionals. Check out the continuing education calendar for upcoming CE events.
