SC AHEC and Edmonson County Public Library have created a new summer library program.
Brownsville, KY – May 28, 2015 – This summer, students entering 5th-8th grade have the opportunity to participate in Edmonson County Public Library’s Medical Club, a summer library program. The Medical Club was created through a partnership between the South Central Area Health Education Center (SC AHEC) at WKU and the Edmonson County Public Library.
Participants of the Medical Club will read the book, The Book of Blood: From Legends and Leeches to Vampires and Veins. They will also participate in four evening library events where they will conduct experiments, complete scavenger hunts, learn CPR, and more! Participants will be entered for a chance to win an Amazon Kindle. The summer library program is open to 20 students. Registration is free, but students must sign-up at the front desk of the library. The evening programs are from 5-8pm on June 18, June 25, July 9, and July 16.
The SC AHEC is dedicated to promoting health careers to students of all ages. They are actively looking for schools or organizations to partner with for the 2015-2016 academic year. If your organization would like to partner with SC AHEC, please contact Catherine Malin.
