Dr. Jay Gabbard, Professor of Social Work at WKU, recently was elected Chair of the Board of Directors of Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society, International. Phi Alpha is the only national honor society for undergraduate and graduate social work students.
New program offered in local elementary schools teaches hands-only CPR

In conjunction with the American Heart Association, the South-Central Kentucky Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is participating in a community outreach program to teach hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to elementary students.
