The Gatton Academy's Staff

Originally from the Seattle area, Hillary has worn many hats throughout her career in Gifted Education: in- and out-of-classroom educator, program administrator, and residence hall director. Prior to joining Gatton, she worked as a Program Director with the Summer Institute for the Gifted, and as a Program Manager with the Institute for Educational Advancement. A former Gifted student herself, Hillary has always been drawn to working with this truly unique, motivated, and passionate population of students.

Hillary received her B.A. in German from the University of Puget Sound, her M.A. in German from Middlebury College, and her M.SC. in Camp Administration and Leadership from Touro University Nevada. She also holds a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) certification from Cambridge University, and spent five years teaching English and German to students of all ages in Germany, including one as a Fulbright Fellow.

Outside of work, Hillary can be found seeing live stand-up comedy and improv shows, playing mini-golf, traveling domestically and abroad, reading German literature, and keeping up with her favorite TV shows.
