Dr. Sibai received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical (Computer) Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. He went on to earn his master’s degree and Ph.D., also in Electrical (Computer) Engineering, at Texas A&M University.
Dr. Sibai joins WKU with experience in leadership, research, and industry engagement. During his career, he has served in Dean, Associate Dean, and Program Director roles at universities in both the United States and the Middle East, including serving as the Acting Dean of the School of Engineering at American International University in Al Jahra, Kuwait.
Dr. Sibai has taught engineering, computer science, information technology, and mathematics courses at several institutions, including the University of California Santa Cruz Extension, San Jose State University, and the University of Akron. He has authored and co-authored over 250 publications and technical reports and has mentored graduate and undergraduate student researchers. His current research interests include artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, computer networks, and hardware acceleration.
Dr. Sibai holds Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and Certified Quality and Risk Management (CQRM) certifications, and is a member of Eta Kappa Nu, the official international honors society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
