Health Career Programming Opportunities

SC KY AHEC is dedicated to promoting health careers to Kentucky students. We strongly believe that anyone interested in the health field should have the opportunity to pursue that interest. We will work with educators to create and fund programs that promotes health careers in the classroom. Contact Catherine Malin for more information.

A strong background in science is vital for all health careers. To help students master these topics, AHEC is encouraging educators to create before or after school health science clubs for their middle and high school students. These clubs allow teachers to focus on activities that they do not have time for during class. Instruction may include, but is not limited to: CPR, first aid, animal dissection, math skills, field trips, guest presentations, community service, and more!!

AHEC provides the funding, supplies, and will help create/implement any activities, but we DO NOT run the club. That is left to the educator at the school.

Club Guidelines:

Grade Level: Middle school and high school students.

Time Frame: Clubs are encouraged to meet for a total of 20 hours.

Our team is avaiable to present on incorporating health careers into the classroom at your next meeting or workshop.
