The Department of Public Health, Western Kentucky University, has been designated as a Multiple Event Provider (#KY0022) of Category I continuing education contact hours in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC). The South Central AHEC coordinates the WKU CHES CE Program.
NCHEC's voluntary professional certification program establishes a national standard for individual health education practitioners. Eligibility to take the CHES and MCHES examination is based exclusively on academic qualifications. The CHES / MCHES exams are given each April and October. Western Kentucky University is a testing site for exam. The exam location is WKU Medical Center Health Sciences Complex, 700 1st Avenue, Bowling Green, KY. This building houses the WKU School of Nursing and is not located on the WKU main campus. The building is on the corner of 1st Avenue and 31W-Bypass. It is directly across the street from Advance Auto Parts and Kroger.
