Providing accommodated testing while maintaining academic integrity is taken very seriously here at Student Accessibility Resource Center. Recommendations for accommodations are made by the SARC Coordinator based on documentation provided by a licensed medical professional.
Such accommodations may include extended time, an alternate location, a writer for
test questions, use of a word processor, larger print, oral administration of test
questions, or other accommodations deemed necessary. These needs are listed in a Faculty
Notification Letter which students are responsible for presenting to each instructor
at the beginning of the semester.
Any student found engaging in academic dishonesty will be required to
surrender their exam, the instructor will be notified, and an incident report completed.
Step 1: Student Form
It is the student's responsibility to complete the Student Testing Form in its entirety 7 days prior to the test day if they wish to test at the SARC office. If the 7-day time frame is not met, we will still do our best to accommodate the student.
Step 2: Instructor Form
Once the SARC receives the Student Testing Form, we will email the instructor our Instructor Testing Form. The SARC asks that the instructor complete the form in its entirety and return it to us as soon as possible. Please, contact the SARC with any correction or changes that may need to be made after completing this form. Instructors are also welcome to initiate this process by contacting the SARC.
Important Note: We would appreciate instructor's and student's collaboration in scheduling the whole semester's exams as soon as possible. In other words, if the course has a specific schedule for testing or quizzes, the SARC encourages the student and instructor to go ahead and schedule all of the exams for that course. For more instruction on this process, please contact the SARC.
Step 3: Instructor Delivers Exam
It is the instructor’s responsibility to deliver the exam to SARC 24 hours before the scheduled exam; the Instructor Testing Form should be completed by this time.
Deliveries are welcome by fax, email, or hand delivery. Campus Mail should not be used as it cannot ensure a timely deliver of materials.
You can reach the SARC office for testing services at 270-745-5004 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
