Ph.D. University of Kentucky, MPA Appalachian State University. Her research focuses on nonprofit-policy relationships, public service ethics, and funding issues, with publications in PS: Political Science & Politics, Journal of Public Affairs Education (JPAE), Public Integrity, and Social Science Quarterly. The second edition of Managing Nonprofit Organizations in a Policy World, written with Shelly Arsneault, is forthcoming from Melvin & Leigh Publishers. Her teaching experience includes courses in nonprofits and public policy, policy analysis and program evaluation, grants, and budgeting. She has served as a nonprofit executive director, grants specialist, and president of the board of directors for the Southeastern Conference for Public Administration (SECoPA).
