We encourage our students to go beyond a Bachelors degree. Many political science students are interested in going to law school and some want to pursue advanced degrees in the field. Paralegal Profession

Paralegals, also called legal assistants, work in a wide range of professional settings and are an integral part of the legal team. Under the direct supervision of attorneys, paralegals perform legal research, legal writing, litigation management and support, and legal technology support.Graduates of WKU's Paralegal Studies have obtained employment in the following areas:

If a career in public service—with its vast array of opportunities to engage with public problems and policy solutions—interests you, then a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree can help you achieve your goals.  The MPA is an excellent, flexible degree suitable to a variety of career opportunities in the public and nonprofit sectors. For almost 50 years, the WKU MPA program has been preparing students to be productive leaders and managers in public service.
