Legal Studies at WKU
The Legal Studies program at WKU brings together a number of academic and auxiliary programs and services related to the legal field. It includes academic programs designed to promote the understanding of law and to help prepare students for careers in law related fields.
Programs
Interdisciplinary program fostering greater understanding of the law as it relates to history, the sciences, and ethics in the United States and around the world.
*Both a Major and Minor are offered in Legal Studies.
Provides students with knowledge of procedural and substantive law and a professional skill set that will prepare them for employment in a changing and competitive legal environment.
Prepares students for immediate employment and career advancement. The certificate can be earned as part of a degree program or as a stand-alone credential.
Pre-Law Advising
Students interested in attending law school are encouraged to meet with a pre-law advisor in addition to his/her major advisor during their tenure at WKU. Pre-law advisors are able to provide assistance in obtaining information about law schools, the LSAT and other pertinent information. Pre-law advisors are also able to advise students on the preparation of their applications to law schools of their choice.
