About Volunteering in Progress (V.I.P)

The heart of a volunteer is not measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others. V.I.P (Volunteering In Progress) is a monthly drive program which dedicates each month to a different cause. This program connects students to community service and volunteer opportunities in the community as well as on campus. Alongside drives, V.I.P sponsors monthly volunteer days where students can participate in a day of "action" by giving back to the community. Along with gaining satisfaction and pride from helping others, students can also earn community service hours for putting in the time and effort in making their campus and community a better place.

Students work with a multitude of sponsors ranging from:

  • Big B Cleaners
  • Hotel Inc.
  • Salvation Army
  • Humane Society
  • Potter Children's Home
  • Girls Inc.
  • Boys and Girls Club
  • Cell Phones for Soldiers

Community service is important to students for numerous reasons! First and foremost, it's the ability for individuals to take pride in knowing they are helping to positively affect someone's life. Volunteering and helping is a crucial part of the college experience. Giving and supporting others is important knowledge that CAN'T be learned from inside the classroom. Always remember, part of being a person is about helping others.
