Alternative Breaks

Alternative Fall Break (2026) application open! Please apply by September 14.

 

Join WKU Student Activities on an alternative fall break trip to St. Louis (October 3-6, 2026). Students attending will see cultural sites such as the City Museum, the St. Louis Arch, and more! Students will also participate in one day of community service. Cost to student is $200. All meals, transportation, and lodging are included. Spots are limited, so put best foot forward on your application!

 

• Application due September 14, 2026.
• After notification of selection, the first $50 installment will be due September 18 to secure your spot.
• Payment will be accepted in form of cash, check, or cashier’s check. Checks should be made to WKU.
• Spots are limited. Selections are made based on quality of application.

Held during the fall and spring semesters, WKU students are given the opportunity to spend their breaks giving back to various community service projects. Alternative break trips incorporate cultural experiences along with opportunities to volunteer across the region. Past alternative breaks have included trips to Savannah, GA; Charleston, SC; Memphis, TN; Tuscaloosa, AL; Mobile, AL; New Orleans, LA; Washington D.C.; and Chicago, IL.  Students are selected on their previous community service work and level of involvement and commitment.
