Audiovisual Support


Audiovisual Services (AVS) is WKU's comprehensive provider of conferencing technology solutions for WKU faculty, staff, students, and community members to enrich communication and collaboration capabilities.

 

Video Conferencing - Room Based

WKU hosts a network of over 40 videoconferencing-enhanced rooms throughout Western Kentucky with locations in Bowling Green, Elizabethtown, Fort Knox, Glasgow, and Owensboro. Room-based video conferencing provides you high-quality, regional, national and international reach to almost anywhere in the world.

 

Web-Based Video Conferencing

Web conferencing refers to a service that allows information to be shared with varying remote locations simultaneously across various geographical locations using a desktop or laptop computer.  The technology includes features that allow users to interact through voice, video, desktop sharing, chat, polling, document sharing, and note posting.

 

Interactive Video Classes

Through the use of video conferencing, AVS provides faculty with the technical support to teach varying subjects in real-time between all WKU campuses.  IVS rooms are conveniently located on all WKU campuses, are high-definition capable and have an assortment of technical teaching tools. IVS classes are supported with unlimited access to supportive, specialized and knowledgeable service agents.

WKU has two main methods for audio conferencing: Cisco Phone and Hosted Audio Conferencing.
