Student Organizations

Students within the CSD Department participate in various student organizations, however, the following are most closely aligned with our academic programs:

American Sign Language Organization

What is ASLO? It stands for American Sign Language Organization! We are a student run organization at Western Kentucky University. Our focus is ASL, Deaf Culture, bridging Hearing and Deaf worlds and having FUN while doing it!  The ASL students at Western Kentucky University wanted to put together a place where people can see upcoming ASL/Deaf events and activities to build a stronger signing community.  For more information click here.

National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association

NSSLHA membership benefits help students stay current on advancements in CSD, network with other students, and save money on products and services.  For more information regarding joining the WKU NSSLHA Chapter please contact Dr. Roden-Carrier (leighanne.roden@wku.edu) or Dr. Barefoot (jeffrey.barefoot@wku.edu).
