About the Department
The Communication Disorders (CD) program at Western Kentucky University (WKU) was established in 1975. The department underwent a name change in July 2013 and now operates as the Communication Sciences and Disorders program, which is located in the WKU College of Health and Human Services (CHHS).
Distance Learning opportunities were added to the program in 1999 and have expanded to allow students to complete a Pre-SLP program, earn a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, and a Rank I Certificate online.
Expansion in the department also included adding the American Sign Language Studies and Cross Cultural Communication in Healtcare programs.
