Welcome to Western Kentucky University. The directions and parking information on this page are customized for each ceremony. Western Kentucky University uses the same address for the entire campus. Guests using a GPS to get to WKU can input 330 University Dr. Bowling Green, KY 42101, which should take you to Parking Structure 2 beside E.A. Diddle Arena.

Graduates, guests, and disability parking for May 8 only

  • Graduate parking is available in Parking Structure 1, the Adams Street Lot, Kentucky Street Lot and the Alumni Square Garage.
  • Parents and guests parking is available in Parking Structure 1 and Parking Structure 2. Additional parking is available within walking distance in the Creason Lot and Parking Structure 3.
  • Disability parking is available in Parking Structure 1, Parking Structure 2, and Diddle North Lot.
  • Additional overflow parking within walking distance is available throughout campus.
  • Visit https://www.wku.edu/eventparking for live updates on parking availability.

Road Closings

  • For pedestrian safety, Avenue of Champions will be closed beginning at 6:15 PM through the end of Big Red’s Bash.
  • College Heights Blvd will be closed: 
    • From Colonnade Drive to Schneider Lot from 5:00 PM until after the procession. 
    • From Colonnade Drive to University Blvd from 6:15 PM until after the procession.

  • If you are approaching from the north of town (Louisville or Glasgow), plan to park on the north end of campus:
    • Adams Street Lot, Alumni Square Garage, Kentucky Street Lot, or Parking Structure 1
    • After your event, traffic control will direct you north. 

 

  • If you are approaching from the south of town (Nashville, Russellville), plan to park on the south end of campus: 
    • Creason Lot, Parking Structure 2, or Parking Structure 3
    • After your event, traffic control will direct you south.

 

  • Complimentary event shuttle service is available in Creason Lot and Parking Structure 3. Shuttles run approximately every 15 minutes and are ADA accessible.

 

  • Disability parking is available in Parking Structure 1, Parking Structure 2, Diddle North Lot and Creason Lot.

Shuttle Service

Complimentary event shuttle service is available in Creason Lot and Parking Structure 3. Shuttles run approximately every 15 minutes and are ADA accessible.

To accommodate event traffic, College Heights Blvd will be designated one-way traffic from Avenue of Champions to State Street throughout the day. 

 

 

 


Guests using a GPS to get to WKU can input 330 University Dr. Bowling Green, KY 42101, which should take you to Parking Structure 2 beside E.A. Diddle Arena. This is suggested parking per your approach to campus. Please follow the links above for a full parking map for the Commencement Ceremony on May 8 or the College Recognition Ceremonies on May 9.

 

 

DIRECTIONS FROM I-65 SOUTH (from Louisville)

  1. Take Exit 26 off Interstate 65.
  2. Turn right onto KY234 / Cemetery Road towards Bowling Green.
  3. Follow Cemetery Road straight onto Fairview Ave and E 6th Ave.
  4. Turn left onto Business 68 / 80 / Adams Street towards campus. Stay in the left-hand lane.
  5. As you approach campus, park in the Adams Street Lot, Alumni Square Garage or Parking Structure 1. Traffic control will send you north following the ceremonies.

IF YOU ARE TRAVELING ON THE WILLIAM NATCHER PARKWAY (from Owensboro):

  1. Take Exit 7 off I - 165 / Natcher Parkway. 
  2. Turn left onto US 68 / 80 / Russellville Rd towards Bowling Green.
  3. Follow Russellville Rd to campus. Park in Parking Structure 2, Parking Structure 3 or Creason Lot. Following the ceremonies, traffic control will send you south to I-165.

IF YOU ARE TRAVELING FROM I65 NORTH (from Nashville):

  1. From I-65, take Exit 20A-B toward Owensboro/Scottsville.
  2. Take Exit 20B - Natcher Pkwy /I-165 N.
  3. From the Natcher Pkwy, take Exit 5 for US 31W / Nashville Rd.
  4. Turn right onto US 31W / Nashville Road towards Bowling Green.
  5. Follow Nashville Rd. around and left at the roundabout onto University Blvd. 
  6. Park in the Creason Lot, Parking Structure 3 or Parking Structure 2. Traffic control will send you south following the ceremonies.
