Professor Borland's fields of interest include the economics of education, public finance, and the theory of consumer behavior. His current research is primarily concerned with the determinants of student academic achievement. Other research is concerned with household production. Professor Borland teaches undergraduate courses in intermediate microeconomic theory and managerial economics and graduate courses in advance microeconomic theory and public finance.
