Entrepreneur Speaks in Grise Hall
- Author: Wednesday, November 16th, 2016
Sarah Nuse, CEO of Tippi Toes Dance CO., spoke at the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation’s third Entrepreneur Speaker Series event of the Fall Semester on Tuesday November 15 in the Grise Hall Auditorium.
Nuse began teaching dance classes in her neighborhood at the age of 12 and six years later launched Tippi Toes while enrolled at the University of Oklahoma. Nuse and her sister and COO, Megan Reilly, competed on ABC’s reality competition, “Shark Tank” in 2011. The Sharks loved their pitch. They were offered a deal, but later turned it down. Today Nuse and Reilly support 35 Tippi Toes Franchisees across the country while still teaching dance classes in their own communities.
Throughout Nuse’s presentation, she made it known to the audience that in order to really be successful in all endeavors there has to be passion in the equation. Nuse explained that she understood that without the passion for dancing and wanting to teach dance she wouldn’t have gotten as far she did on this journey, nor would have been as successful.
Also Nuse gave a helpful tip to students that in whichever direction they decide to go, to make sure that they have mentor that can depend on. Nuse enjoyed being a part of the Speaker Series and what The Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation has to offer and said, “If I had an opportunity like this in college I would’ve jumped at it when I had the chance."
