With the Certificate, I gained the credentials to teach Introduction to Gender & Women’s Studies. As the director of the Intercultural Student Engagement Center, I am constantly drawing on my GWS certificate as I work with our students. The coursework helped me empower our students, and it has also helped me empower my daughter and my son. The coursework—required readings—heightened my appetite for more gender-related issues and concerns, thereby leading to “talks” with my children—which enhanced their knowledge, skills, and sensitivity related to gender-specific issues and concerns.   THE GWS certificate ROCKS!!!!
