Letter from the Advisor

Deciding to go to college is one of the most important decisions of your life, and your decision to become a Hilltopper was the right one!

As you make the major transition to college, the experience can become a very exciting and challenging one.. This time brings new challenges and opportunities. As you're looking to find your "home away from home" on a large, vibrant and diverse campus, we hope you will consider the benefits of membership in a fraternity or sorority. Membership in a Greek organization gives you a unique opportunity to get involved on campus, gain leadership skills, develop interpersonal skills, form meaningful relationships, further enrich your academics, and discover what it means to be a contributing member of society.

For the past 50 years, Greek life has been celebrated on WKU's campus. Greek organizations are some of the largest and most visible student organizations on campus. Over 2300 students are members of our 33 organizations within our three councils. The Greek community is an integral part of student life at Western Kentucky University and I hope the tradition will continue with your membership!

Educate yourself by reading through our website to become more familiar with what our fraternities and sororities have to offer. Fraternities and sororities are different on every college campus, so we encourage you to choose an organization where you feel most comfortable and can grow as an individual. Participating in recruitment or membership intake is a great way to meet new friends and make the lifelong commitment to a values-based organization.

Greek Affairs is committed to your success. Our mission is to enrich your college experience and foster the values our organizations were founded on. We expect our Greek organizations to enhance the mission of the institution while focusing on their commitment to service, academic development, peer accountability, social experiences, advancement of brotherhood/sisterhood and leadership development.

If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Warmest Regards,

Greek Affairs Coordinator
