Degree Requirements

Graduate Students

Degree requirements for specific degree programs vary (i.e. course requirements, GPA, credit hours, etc.), and you should carefully plan your specific courses with the help of your assigned advisor. However university degree requirements are overarching, and apply to all WKU students. It is important to be well informed about university requirements, so you can remain on track to graduate. Below is a list of criteria and links for graduate students to refer to along the way.

Degree seeking graduate students must fill out the following forms:

  • Form C (Degree Program): This form must be filled out within the first 12 credit hours.
  • Form D (Admission to Candidacy): This form must be filled out between 15 and 21 credit hours earned.
  • Course Change Form: This form is used to change electives, etc. on your approved degree program.
  • Application for Graduation: The application for graduation should be submitted on TopNet at least one semester prior to graduation.

All forms are accessible from the Successful Degree Completion Checklist available on the Graduate School website. Additional information on specific program requirements, program change forms, readmission, transfer of credit and more is available at wku.edu/graduate/students/.
