Biography

Chris Champion joins the Gordon Ford College of Business at Western Kentucky University as a Business Law Instructor. He is an experienced General Counsel whose work spans compliance, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, labor and employment, intellectual property, complex litigation, and corporate governance, as well as business development through licensing and strategic transactions.

Most recently, Chris served 14 years as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Administrative Officer at Fruit of the Loom, Inc., leading its legal and compliance functions and overseeing key administrative operations. He was previously Vice President and General Counsel at The Aaron's Company and spent 11 years at Russell Corporation in roles including Director of Government Relations and Assistant General Counsel.

He holds a Juris Doctor from The University of Alabama School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Huntingdon College.

Drawing on decades in corporate legal departments, Chris brings students practical insight into the legal issues business leaders actually face — from corporate governance and labor relations to the deals and disputes that shape a company's future.
