First-Time Freshmen Scholarship Calculator Information

Information Applicable to Beginning Freshmen Fall 2019

First-time freshmen refers to either graduating high school seniors or students who have not earned any college credit after high school graduation (with the exception of summer credit at the institution of Fall entry).

The purpose of the Scholarship Calculator is to provide first-time freshmen with an estimation of the types of academic scholarships that they might be eligible to receive at Western Kentucky University. By entering data into the Scholarship Eligibility box located below, students will be able to view a list of academic scholarships that they might qualify for based on the information that they had inputted into the Scholarship Eligibility box. To learn more, visit the First-Time Freshmen Scholarships webpage.

Directions

In order to use the Scholarship Calculator, you will need to enter certain academic and demographic information. By inputting this information, the system will be able to determine if you meet the initial qualifications for certain academic scholarships.

ACT/SAT Scores

You will need to input your ACT and/or SAT Score. ACT scores range from 1 to 36 and the combined SAT scores range from 400 to 1600.

December is typically the last ACT/SAT test date that would ensure that your score is received by our office before the scholarship deadline.

Residency

At Western Kentucky University, a residency determination is made based on information supplied by each applicant or admission. In general, in-state residence for tuition purposes requires domicile and legal residency in Kentucky prior to enrollment. Upon acceptance to the university, undergraduate students are informed of the residency decision via the personalized profile sheet that accompanies each admission letter. For more information, visit the Admissions webpage.

TIP

Western Kentucky University offers a Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) to qualified undergraduate students who are residents of specific counties in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
