Women today are increasingly gravitating towards Finance as a career option. Finance has a great potential for growth and is exciting, challenging and gratifying.
One such woman, is Kyla Scanlon, a junior majoring in Finance, Economics and Business
Data Analytics, who is undoubtedly passionate about enlightening others about the
world of finance. One year ago she created her blog, Scanlon on Stocks, where she
offers advice and knowledge from her own options trading experience.
Not only is Kayla passionate about helping others learn about finance, she is passionate
about the organization that she founded two years ago, Women in Business. The organization
brings professional speakers to campus to talk about their experiences. Kyla encourages
everyone to come to their meeting regardless of gender or major.
Kayla loves going to school here and was excited about her summer internship at Hillard

Seth is a junior pursuing a degree in financial planning with a minor in economics.
He serves as a VIP Student Coordinator for the Gordon Ford College of Business Ambassadors
and the Finance and Social Chair for the WKU Mahurin Honors College Honors Toppers.
He chose Personal Financial Planning as a career path due to his dexterity with numbers,
his passion for helping people, and the intriguing complexities and challenges that
Seth is the recipient of the TD Ameritrade NextGen Scholarship where he was able to
ring the closing bell at the NASDAQ in New York City. He also had the privilege of
studying aboard in England where he was able to visit over 14 countries in 5 months.
Following graduation, Seth hopes to work as a financial planner at a growing firm
where putting the client's interests first is prioritized and where he is able to
help people achieve their dreams.
