Christian Galilchio is an Assistant Professor at Western Kentucky University. Originally from Connecticut, he received his B.A. in English, with a minor in writing, from Eastern Connecticut State University, his M.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and his Ph.D. in English from the University of Georgia. He was previously a postdoctoral teaching fellow in Emory’s Writing Program. Before pursuing his Ph.D., he also worked as a high school and middle school English and reading teacher in the greater Boston area. 

His research focuses on the intersection of literature, rhetoric, and education. His current book project considers the literary and pedagogical afterlives of Puritan rhetoric in nineteenth-century Christmas literature, arguing that conversion was a key component to the birth of the modern Christmas celebration, which was later utilized as a moral teaching tool in the twentieth-century classroom. His work has been published in Neo-Victorian Studies, Victoriographies, and The Journal of Dracula Studies, among others. 

When he isn’t teaching, Christian can be found watching films and rooting for the Boston Red Sox alongside his wife, two daughters, and two chihuahuas.
