Description:
Manny Grimaldi is a writer from Louisville, KY. He is the author of two full length poetry books, “Finding a Word to Describe You,” and “Riding Shotgun with the Mothman.” Manny is said to perform his work, having attended The Last Insomniacathon 2024 in Louisville, and read alongside (in a give and take energy) with an improvisational guitarist at Cafe Luigart. He is a musician, having fronted bands on lead electric cowbell. Manny co-founded Lexington’s Workhorse poetry journal, Yearling, in 2021 and managed until February 2026. If you want a sneak peek at what he wrote two months ago, generally it is unrecognizable by the time you ask. He is Dark Father, as his daughter dubs him, to two genius level OG children, and hosts a family of five budgies, a tawny finch, and an insane grey tabby kitten - talk about risky living calling plays and running interference all day long from a typewriter. Manny attends the Creative Writing Program at Spalding University, on track to obtain an MFA. The dishes are never done.
