This presentation deals with the contemporary relevance of the homage that Afro-Brazilian film and literature pay to Brazil's African slave hero and the most famous and largest runaway slave community in Latin America.

Dr. Dawn Duke is Portuguese & Spanish Professor & Chair of Africana Studies at the University of Tennessee.
