Covid-19 Research

The Covid-19 pandemic originated by the Coronavirus has generated a wealth of data to a degree not observed in any past epidemic, and unquestionably will feed a comparable amount of research. Data Science researchers outside the field of epidemiology have become involved. At the same time, there is a need to learn more about epidemiological models. Epidemiologists also are benefiting from collaborating with Data Scientists to interpret the statistical model-fitting methods.

Most of us have followed the COVID data more or less closely, and we became familiar with some general terms of SIR models to project infections and deaths. Also, I would say that, by now, we have probably concluded that an explanatory model for Covid-19 that predicts well in the long term is elusive! There are just numerous dynamically-linked attributes in this global pandemic, which we cannot explain.

This site intends to share what we already know about these models and provide resources to researchers interested in improving the existing models.
