Degrees earned: Bachelor's in Clinical Psychology Metropolitan State University of Denver, Bachelor's in Liberal Arts Middle Tennessee State University,  Master's in Sociology Western Kentucky University

Teaching Interests: I fell into teaching eleven years ago because I offered to sub a class for one of my professors.  That one class substitution led to my subsequent employment at a number of Universities, Community Colleges, and Design Schools. I love working with students and I feel blessed at the end of every semester when students leave the class excited about what they've learned in Sociology.  My favorite classes to teach are Crime and Delinquency, Introduction to Sociology, and the Sociology of Aging.

Life Interests: my family, travel, living in the mountains, Eastern philosophy, Carl Jung, snowboarding, yoga, hiking 14ers, gardening, learning new things.

About:  My career kind of chose me because I fell into it by accident.  I quickly realized I enjoyed teaching and I loved building relationships with students. Sociology is a really fun discipline to teach. My academic superhero is Noam Chomsky.  He has lived his academic life guided firmly by his beliefs and values with very little concern about how others feel about it. Sociology is more important than ever, especially the ability to look at conflicting situations objectively and analytically.

I overuse the phrase  "does that make sense?" the most. My favorite quote is  "Try to let what is unfair teach you." by David Foster Wallace.  For fun, I hang with my kiddos, get into nature, read, and watch indie films.
