Kendra Woodward '18

Recent graduate of the Criminology program at WKU, Kendra Woodward advises, “Find your purpose! Your purpose will soon be your passion, and your passion will continue to motivate you!” Kendra started training as a Cadet in December of 2017, while also balancing a full-time course load, pursuing an internship with Uspiritus, and holding down a part-time job. Although it was a chaotic time, Kendra was grateful for the understanding and flexibility of her supervisors and is pleased that it all worked out so well. WKU graduation day was an especially important moment. “It’s so exciting and fulfilling to see everyone you started with dressed in caps and gowns with smiles on their faces.” Kendra continued on as a Police Recruit and has recently became a successful police officer.  She loves working for the Bowling Green Police Department because “I really admire the family atmosphere.  You feel welcomed as soon as you walk in the door. I also admire the pride that everyone has to be a part of this agency. It really shows through the amount of training and the high standards that we have here.” Looking back on her time in the Department, Kendra reflects on the opportunities for applied learning. “A memory I will always have was our trip to the Warren County Day Treatment Center. It was nice to be outside of the classroom and get hands-on experience to compare it to what we had been studying.”
