    [Section_Value3] => <p><strong>Phillip W. Bale, M.D. </strong>is a family physician who has practiced continuously in Glasgow, Kentucky since 1979.&nbsp; A native of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, he received his B.S. degree in zoology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, followed by his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.&nbsp; He then completed a residency with the University of Virginia and is a fellow of the American Association of Family Physicians.&nbsp; He has served on numerous local and statewide boards, including 12 years on the Glasgow Board of Education, serving as Chair the last eight years.&nbsp; He founded the University of Louisville-Glasgow Family Medicine Residency Program in 1997 and recently completed two consecutive three-year terms on the Board of The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky. &nbsp;He is married to Kristen Togstad Bale, who served on the WKU Board of Regents from 1992 until 2005.&nbsp; They have four children and seven grandchildren.&nbsp; His term on the Board ends June 2021.</p>

    [Section_Value1] => <p><strong>David Brinkley</strong> is the Director of Public Broadcasting for the only public joint radio and television licensee in Kentucky.&nbsp; Both operations are housed on the campus of Western Kentucky University. David has been involved at WKU since 1998 after five years of service with Kentucky Educational Television.&nbsp; He has a lengthy television production background with 12 Ohio Valley Emmy Awards to his credit.&nbsp; He is the current immediate past chair of the Kentucky Public Radio Network and is the Chair-Elect for the Kentucky Broadcaster&rsquo;s Association.&nbsp;&nbsp; He is an active member of National Association of Broadcasters and the Kentucky Broadcaster&rsquo;s Association.&nbsp; Regionally, he is the current Vice -Chair of the National Educational Telecommunications Association Affinity Group Coalition.&nbsp; He also serves on the University License Association Executive Committee and is a 2017 graduate of PBS&rsquo;s Executive Leadership Network class.&nbsp; Originally from Somerset, Kentucky, David has three children (Madison, Braden, and Gauge), two adopted cats (Mr. Mustachio and Half-stache), and two adopted greyhounds (Movin&rsquo; and Nui).&nbsp; He is married to Jennifer Brinkley, a Bowling Green attorney and Assistant Professor of Pedagogical Studies at WKU.</p>

    [Section_Value3] => <p><strong>Dr. Claus Ernst</strong> is a professor of mathematics. His came to WKU as an assistant professor in 1988, was promoted to full professor in 1998, and appointed Western Kentucky University Distinguished Professor in 2013. His birthplace is in Germany where completed his undergraduate education. As a graduate student he joined Florida State University where he obtained a Ph. D in 1988. His research area is topology, in particular knot theory and its applications to the physical sciences. He has been a successful researcher - as can be seen in his publication record and in the fact that he has been invited to mathematics conferences all over the world. He was a principal investigator of several NSF grants awarded by the division of mathematics. While at WKU Claus Ernst served on many different committees (for example the&nbsp;Benefits Committee) and has been the chair of several University Senate committee (such as the Budget and Finance Committee or the Faculty Welfare and Professional Responsibilities Committee).</p>
<p>His wife Uta Ziegler is a professor of computer science at WKU in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Together they raised two sons who both attended the Gatton Academy. During the last 10 years they has taught the vast majority of Gatton students using a course entitled &ldquo;Advanced computational problem solving&rdquo; that is taken by all Gatton students in their junior year.&nbsp; His term on the Board ends October, 2020.</p>

    [Section_Value3] => <p>Linda Ball is a native of Madisonville, Kentucky and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Western Kentucky University.&nbsp; She has had a Kentucky real estate license since 1979 and is a business owner and community volunteer in Lexington, Kentucky.&nbsp; She has been associated with numerous boards and organizations including the American Heart Association, the AHA Great Rivers Affiliate Board, Hope Center, One Parent Scholar House, The Lexington School Board of Trustees, Baby Health Services, University of Kentucky Women and Philanthropy as well as several others.&nbsp; She and her husband, Ray, reside in Lexington and have three children and one grandchild.&nbsp; Her term ends in June, 2024.</p>

    [Section_Value3] => <p><strong>Julie A. Harris Hinson</strong> is President and CEO of Advanced Lifeline Services, Inc. (ALS) headquartered in Louisville, KY. She has been with the Company for 27 years starting as the Director of Marketing in 1989. In 2005, Julie was named President by the owners of the Company. In 2010, the company became 100% employee owned and she was named President and CEO of the Advanced Lifeline Services, Inc.&nbsp; ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan).</p>
<p>Advanced Lifeline Services is the leading provider of ventilator care services to long term care facilities in the US. There are twelve states have Medicaid exceptional care rates for the care of ventilator and trach dependent patients. ALS has 16 locations in 7 of those states and is in a structured growth mode.</p>
<p>A native of Owensboro, KY, Julie earned a B.A. in Public Relations, minoring in Business in 1990. She also claims Glasgow and Bowling Green as secondary home towns because of family connections and the influences each have had in formative periods of her life.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Julie&rsquo;s contributions to WKU are abundant.&nbsp; She is Past-president of the Greater Louisville Alumni Chapter and Past-president of the National Alumni Association Board of Directors.&nbsp; Julie is the Chair of the Lee Robertson/Gary Sundmacker Golf Scramble, benefitting the chapter&rsquo;s scholarship fund.&nbsp; Her commitments also include service as a founding member of the WKU Sisterhood, leadership on the WKU Foundation Board and as an advisor to the College of Health and Human Services Advisory Council. During 2015 Homecoming&rsquo;s Summit Awards, Julie was named the WKU Alumnae of the Year. She was also inducted into the CHHS Hall of Fame in April 2016. Julie is a member of the 2016 &ndash; 2017 Presidential Search Committee. She is also a Red Towel member of the Hilltopper Athletic Fund. Julie and her husband, Mike are members of the Cherry Society at the Cornerstone Level.</p>
<p>Julie is a Life Loyal member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. She also was active in the 50<sup>th</sup> Anniversary Committee celebrating 50 years of AOII/Alpha Chi on WKU&rsquo;s campus.</p>
<p>She brings guidance to several organizations in Louisville, such as The Fillies Inc., The Woman&rsquo;s Club of Louisville, the Kentucky Federation of Republican Women, and the Metropolitan Republican Women&rsquo;s Club.</p>
<p>Julie and Mike live in Prospect, KY with their 2 four-legged children.</p>

Higdon</strong> is a partner in Spragens &amp; Higdon, PSC, located in Lebanon, Kentucky where he focuses on corporate, estate planning, probate, real estate and taxation law. He recently served in Frankfort, Kentucky as Commissioner of the Kentucky Alcoholic Beverage Control from March, 2013 through March, 2016. He is a 1972 graduate of WKU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Louisville in 1975. He is a Certified Public Accountant, having earned that distinction in 1976. From 1992 to 1996 he served as Assistant Marion County Attorney. In August 2008 he was appointed as a Special Justice to the Kentucky Supreme Court. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Peoples Bank in Lebanon and as President of the Marion County Industrial Foundation. Higdon is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Marion County Bar Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants, Western Kentucky University Alumni Association, University of Louisville &ndash; School of Law Alumni Association and the Leadership-Lebanon/Marion County Alumni Association. His term on the board ends June 2021.</p>

    [Section_Value3] => <p><strong>Gillard B. Johnson</strong> is the&nbsp; managing member of Bowling and Johnson, PLLC law firm in Nicholasville, Kentucky. He has extensive experience in tax exempt and industrial development bond financing and experience in mergers, tax-free reorganizations, and commercial/corporate litigation.</p>
<p>Mr. Johnson received his Doctorate of Law from the University of Louisville and is actively involved in professional organizations such as the National Association of Bond Lawyers and the University of Louisville Law Review. He is admitted to practice in Kentucky.</p>
<p>He is a 1970 graduate of WKU. His term on the board ends June 2019.</p>

    [Section_Value3] => <p><strong>Stephen Mayer</strong>, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, graduated as the Student Body Vice-President from DeSales High School in 2016. He is currently pursuing his bachelor of science in Biology and Chemistry with a pre-medicine concentration. He hopes to become a Cardiothoracic Surgeon and eventually own his own practice.</p>
<p>During his first two years at Western Kentucky University, Stephen has become involved in Sigma Phi Epsilon where he was the academic and scholarship chair and spent most of his time helping the active brothers who struggled with academics by tutoring and teaching organization skills. In the Spring Semester of 2017, Stephen was appointed to be the academic affairs chair in the Student Government Association and helped organize and execute the first ever Students with Disabilities Scholarship that was introduced by the 2016-2017 Student Body President, JayTodd Richey. He is also a member of the Mahurin Honors College, Beta Beta Beta, and the Association of Undergraduate Geneticists. In the Fall of 2017, Stephen studied abroad at Harlaxton College in Grantham, England where he studied British History and Biology.</p>
<p>His passions include working with increasing the retention rates on campus and ensuring that all students are aware of the wonderful resources that the WKU Student Government Association has to offer. Stephen will strive to make WKU an even more welcoming and exciting environment for all to enjoy. His term on the board ends in July 2019.</p>

McKinney</strong> of Scottsville, Kentucky, is a Bowling Green native and 2001 graduate of Western Kentucky University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting.&nbsp; He also holds a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix.&nbsp; McKinney is a partner and CPA in the McKinney Woosley, LLP CPA firm in Scottsville which provides accounting and tax services to small business, with an emphasis on construction.&nbsp; He also serves as treasurer for both Lifeskills, Inc., and The Core and as a member of the board of directors for The Heart of Scottsville.&nbsp; McKinney comes from a long line of WKU alumni, spanning three generations and holding 13 degrees among them.&nbsp; He currently resides in Scottsville with his wife Rebekah, an associate at Kerrick Bachert, PSC in Bowling Green, and their son Grayson. His term on the board ends June 2022.</p>

    [Section_Value3] => <p>George Nichols III is the president and chief executive officer of The American College of Financial Services beginning November 1, 2018. Mr. Nichols joins the College after a 17-year career with New York Life, most recently serving as executive vice president in charge of the Office of Governmental Affairs, which encompasses all state, federal and international legislative, regulatory and public policy issues at the company.&nbsp; Prior to joining New York Life, Mr. Nichols was the commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Insurance, where he regulated the state&rsquo;s $10 billion insurance industry and was recognized for his expertise in health insurance reform and financial services integration. Before that, he was the executive director of the Kentucky Health Policy Board, vice president of marketing for Medical Management Resources (MMR), executive director of product development for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kentucky, executive officer of Central State Hospital in Louisville, and executive assistant to the commissioner of the Kentucky Department for Mental Health/Mental Retardation Services.&nbsp; Mr. Nichols has been named twice to the list of &ldquo;Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America,&rdquo; by Savoy, the leading African-American business and lifestyle magazine, and was the first African-American president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (1999).&nbsp; Mr. Nichols received an M.A. degree from the University of Louisville, a B.A. degree from Western Kentucky University, and an A.A. degree from Alice Lloyd College. He and his wife, Cynthia Jean, have three adult children: Courtney, Jessica and George IV.</p>

    [Section_Value3] => <p><strong>David Porter</strong> has been with Stites &amp; Harbison law firm since 1987 and is based in the Lexington office where his practice focuses on trusts and estate administration, estate planning and charitable giving, charitable and non-profit organizations, estate and gift taxes, probate and fiduciary law. &nbsp;Porter is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky College of Law. &nbsp;He is a Fellow and Kentucky State Chair of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the American Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association and Foundation, Fayette County Bar Association and Foundation, and Lexington Estate Planning Council. &nbsp;Porter has served numerous civic and professional organizations, including the Kentucky Council on Higher Education from 1988-1996 and the Lexington Philharmonic Society. &nbsp;Currently he is a board member of the Lexington Medical Society Foundation and the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra Foundation. &nbsp;Porter is admitted to practice in Kentucky, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. &nbsp;His term on the board ends June 2020.</p>
