Research Interests
- My research interests include the cognitive and social foundations of young children’s learning and remembering. Recent work focuses on how parent-child interactions influence what children learn, remember, and can transfer from informal education contexts. The lab is currently exploring growth in children’s cognition from early childhood across the transition to elementary school in underserved populations, including work with Head Start. This work has the potential to strategically impact how science centers, museums, and Head Start grantees can work together on family engagement programming to achieve equitable STEM learning opportunities and broaden participation for low-income young children and their families.
Research Supervision
I am willing to serve as director or serve on a committee for any of these types of projects: Psy 290, Psy 490, Honors, MA theses, Ed.S. Specialist Projects, Psy.D. Dissertations
