Nursing (Officially Admitted)

  • New York
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Undergraduate

This state requires applicants pursuing Registered Nursing Licensure (RN) to pass the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN). Applicants for the NCLEX-RN must graduate from a nursing program approved by the state in which the nursing program is located. The Baccalaureate of Nursing Program (BSN) is approved by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. Thus, we have determined our BSN meets the educational requirements for RN licensure in this state.

Once licensed in any state within the United States, the applicant can apply for licensure in any other state. This process requires application to the applicable state and payment of licensure fees to the new state. For application forms and fee information to transfer an RN license to another state, please refer to the nursing licensure board website for the applicable state.

Additional requirements for state licensure may include background checks, official transcripts, fees, additional coursework, training, experience, and jurisprudence and board examination results. For more details about registered nurse licensing requirements and board contact information, please visit the New York Office of the Professions website.
