"Thirteen Reasons Why" Panel Discussions
  • Date: Tuesday, October 10th, 20172017-10-10
  • Time: 7:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Location: Russell H. Miller Theatre (Fine Arts Center)Russell H. Miller Theatre (Fine Arts Center)
Description:

Due to the overwhelming response to the TV series based on Jay Asher’s bestselling book Thirteen Reasons Why, we have arranged a few opportunities for parents, educators, teens, and anyone else who’d like to join to come have an open discussion about the book, the show, and mental health awareness.

These panel discussions will include a group of mental health experts from WKU’s campus along with professionals working in the community, many of whom specialize in teen suicide and mental health awareness for teens and young adults.

We hope the panels will create space to have important discussions about the implications of the book, the show, and their collective impact on culture, school, and family life.

The panels are scheduled for September 28 at the Warren County Bob Kirby Branch Library, 175 Iron Skillet Ct., at 6:00 pm, and October 10 at the Russell H. Miller Theatre (Fine Arts Center) on WKU’s campus at 7:00 pm. Parking on campus is free after 4:30pm, and there is ample parking at the Bob Kirby Library.

The events are free and open to the public and are swipeable for WKU students.
