Teacher Admissions Orientation Meetings
All students who wish to enter the teaching profession must attend an orientation. Students will create their Teacher Admission file at this orientation. In order to gain entrance to a Teacher Admission Orientation, students must bring a copy of their Blackboard activity results showing an 85% or higher. Those who do not have a minimum score of 85% or higher or do not have a copy of their Blackboard activity results with them will not be allowed to attend that orientation session.

|There are no make-up orientations available during the semester, so please make plans to attend one of the above dates.|
NOTE: Only students who meet all of the criteria for admission will be admitted to the Teacher Education Program. To be eligible to receive an application for student teaching and to apply for student teaching, the student must complete all the requirements for admission to Teacher Education and be approved by Western Kentucky University's Professional Education Council.
Some teacher education programs, as indicated in the “Program Matriculation Standards Related to Teacher Admission,” require completion of the teacher admission testing standard as a prerequisite for enrollment in certain courses. Further, all programs require official admission to teacher education by at least the beginning of the semester prior to student teaching if not as a prerequisite for enrollment in certain courses prior to the student teaching semester.
