What is Handshake & Why Use It?
Faculty and staff at Western Kentucky University play an important role in supporting student success through student employment and career readiness. Handshake is WKU’s primary platform for posting on-campus jobs and on-campus internships. By utilizing Handshake, departments can easily promote student employment opportunities while helping students gain valuable experience, build skills, and prepare for their future careers.
Account Set-up
Go to Handshake
- Choose Employer Profile
- Click “Sign up” (top right).
- Under “Are you an employer?” select Register Here.
- Fill Out Information
- Use your wku.edu email.
- Select “Education” as candidate type.
- Select No for third-party recruiter.
- Confirm via the email sent by Handshake.
- Join WKU On-Campus Student Employment & Experiences
- Request access; the Career Development team will approve.
