April is Autism Awareness Month
The Vitale Clinical Education Complex is participating in the Light it Up Blue global initiative, as well as offering several activities to promote awareness.
- Tuesday, April 8, 4:00pm-7:00pm - The Renshaw Early Childhood Center (RECC) is teaming up with the Autism and Asperger Support Group of Bowling Green and other local agencies for an Autism Family Night at Chick-fil-A. There will be free Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Screeners for children one to five years old, crafts, and other events. - Monday, April 21, 10:00am-7:00pm - Serving Up Awareness: An Autism Awareness Event at Griff's Deli. This event will include autism screenings for children aged 12 months to 48 months, children's awareness activities, and autism awareness merchandise will be sold. Griff's will donate 10% of the day's profits to the Renshaw Early Childhood Center.
- Saturday, April 26 - Eighth Annual LifeSkills Run for Autism will be held at the Bowling Green Ballpark. Sign-in and Registration begins at 6:30 am. The four mile run begins at 8:00 am and the one mile walk begins at 9:00 am. For more information, go to autismrun.org.
